About Paytabl
Paying should be the easiest part of the meal.
Paytabl puts the bill on the guest's phone. They split it, tip and pay in a few taps, and the payment goes onto the restaurant's POS on its own. We build it for restaurants in the United States.
What we're here to do
The end of a meal is where a good night can stall: waiting for the check, working out who had what, waiting again for the card machine. Servers spend that time walking back and forth instead of looking after the room.
Paytabl hands that moment to the guests. Everyone at the table sees the same live bill, pays their own part from their own phone, and the table settles as soon as they're ready. The restaurant gets the payment on its POS, the tip with the right server and a rating from the guest.
How Paytabl works
A code on every table
Print your QR codes from the dashboard. Each one opens that table's bill, read from your POS.
The guest pays their part
By item, an even share or a set amount, with an optional tip, through Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card.
The POS is updated
Each payment goes onto the check on your POS with its tip, and the bill updates on every phone at the table.
Your team sees it happen
The staff app shows every table settle and calls a person when something needs one.
The money is yours
Payments run on your restaurant's own Stripe account and pay out to your bank.
The day adds up
The cash-up matches every phone payment to its POS tender before you count the drawer.
What we hold to
No hidden fee for guests
The service fee, 0.5% by default, is its own line on the bill before anyone pays.
Tipping stays optional
Guests can always see a no-tip choice when they're asked to tip. No venue setting can hide it.
Every rating reaches you
Low scores included. We never filter ratings by score.
No app, no account
Guests pay in the phone's browser. An account is optional and never needed to pay.
Your own Stripe account
Card processing at cost, charged by Stripe to your account. We add nothing to it.
Your POS stays in charge
Servers can always close a check on the POS the usual way, and managers can pause paying by phone in seconds.
